Restaurants: Cancun Taqueria. My perfect meal.

Sure this place has been blogged about for years by everyone and their big hombre and it’s consistently on everyones best burrito list in SF.  There’s pretty good reason – its so damn good.

I have been eating burritos and tacos from Taqueria Cancun (in their original Mission / 19th location) for 15 years. While we lived it up on the West Coast Cancun was a late night standby – after cheap beers at Original McCarthy’s or a cocktail at the Beauty Bar.

As we all know NYC is slim on California-style burritos, although 7th Avenue Taqueria in Park Slope, Dos Toros in Union Square and Calexico Cart all about town are making things palatable. I’m lucky enough to make it back to SF at least once a year for work and the FIRST stop is Cancun – regardless of any other dinner or lunch plans – to nosh down a couple El Pastor Tacos Supreme or an outstanding Pollo Burrito with extra fresh avocado. It’s a delicious pilgrimage.  – J F Grossen, Chief Executive Oenophile

“I just don’t see Big Wine allowing labels on wine reading something like this: This wine was dealcoholized by reverse osmosis and smoothed out with micro-oxygenation.
